1)What is the difference between a symbol and a instance?

A Symbol is an original object. It's like the daddy and the instances of that symbol are like his beautiful children, they have the share the same amount of strain on the program, and even look the same. Thats why if you alter the daddy symbol (i.e digitally kick him in the nuts) his baby's will change too.

2)what is the difference between a frame that has a empty circle or a difference between a frame with a black circle?

An empty circle is a blank keyframe. It's completely empty. While a Black circle frame is a Keyframe. You use keyframes to acknowledge points in a certain time frame. For instance to have a Jet Pack Kid move from one side of the screen to the other I would use two keyframes. One where he is positioned on the left side of the screen and the other key frame where he's positioned on the other.

3)What are two of the main reason's people use flash?

1: to get chicks
2: Because you can animate easily for the web.
3: It uses vector imaging so you can directly work with your Illustrator Files

4)You can only motion tween a symbols!

5)How can you tell the differne between a shape and a symbol
When you select a symbol a box shows up around the outside of it. However when you select a shape it looks all static-y with no box around it.
